Esperanza
· Situated on a high plateau of the Duero river valley, it is the region for the white wines of Castilla y Leon.
· The indigenous grape variety is VERDEJO, which is used as a varietal grape or as a blend with VIURA or SAUVIGNON BLANC, producing crisp, light and fresh white wines full of fruity aromas.
· Esperanza (meaning “Hope” in Spanish) is an innovative project developed by Axial in the promising Rueda D.O.
· An excellent quality price ratio and the added advantage of including an indigenous grape variety, Verdejo.
· The average age of the vines is 15 years old, but there are also vines that are more than 50 years old, these are used for the
ESPERANZA Rueda Verdejo.
· The soils have a great concentration of boulders on the surface. The terrain is stony, poor in organic matter, relatively high in calcium, wellaerated and well-drained.
· The area has a continental climate, with cold winters and short, hot summers.
· Avelino Vegas was awarded in 2009 with the IFC Certificate which assures their ability to maintain quality and traceability of all their outputs, together with the global product safety and quality certification program, the BRC Global Standard Certificate.
