Bodegas Vallobera
· Javier San Pedro began to get involved in his father’s business at the age of 14, and from a young age he wanted to produce his own bottled wines, which he began at the age of 23 years old.
· Gradually he built a bodega and in 1987 released his own wines to the market.
· Vallobera means “Valle de Lobo” valley of the wolves.
· All the vineyards of Bodegas Vallobera are located in Laguardia, a beautiful medieval walled town on the edge of the Sierra Cantabria
· Vallobera is his highest-located vineyard and, in fact, one of the highest in the whole of Rioja.
· Attention to detail, that is Bobegas Vallobera. It is what makes it the reliable, trustworthy and quality motivated supplier of excellent Rioja Wines. In recognition of this fact the Bodega was
awarded the ISO 9001 Certificate in 2009 which proves their focus and the use of standards for quality management systems at every level.
· The main grape variety is Tempranillo, although there are plantings of Garnacha and Viura, all with low yields.
· In Rioja Alavesa, the soils are composed of clay-limestone and the vineyards are made up of terraces and small parcels.
· The climate is affected by Atlantic and by Mediterranean influences, which increase as one goes down the Ebro river.
· The Denomination of Origin Rioja is located in the Ebro valley and belongs to various villages of the provinces of La Rioja, País Vasco, and Navarra.
